Shiodome Caretta Illumination 汐留イルミネーション

Hey! The season for Illumination is almost over.
However, I managed to see some of them, and they were dazzling.

Last December, me and my classmates went to Shiodome Caretta for dinner and (the illumination of course). This year Caretta Shiodome hosts the “Canyon d’Azur” featuring ocean of LED lights.

To reach there, you’ll need to stop at Shiodome Station 汐留駅 or you can get off at Shinbashi Station 新橋駅. Look for Caretta at the map inside the station, or if you could not find it, look for Dentsu Building. Caretta is located next to Dentsu Building

How it looked like from above.
Sorry it was taken with my phone camera.

This is how it looked like from eye level.
The show started every 15 minutes from 7 PM.
The show itself was only 5 minutes long.
A lot of people took photos in front of that tree.
There was a light tunnel, and people were lining to take photo inside the tunnel.
There’s no way I could line there. It was too cold.

A moment before the show started.
I could not take a lot of picture because I was mesmerized with the lights. You could see the whole show in the video below.

Then we moved from Caretta to Shiodome Plaza. Actually we went there to look for desserts and we found a Godiva Chocolatier. Too bad it was closed already T___T

There was an illumination too in the Plaza.
Not too big, but less crowded because not many people know about this one.
we found a good photo spot
The lights changed every few minutes.

Eria and Ryan. I think every Indonesian in Japan know about them
(LOL I feel like a commoner)
Main stage
For a second, I though the man proposed her… It turned out they were taking picture. LOL
I love this place!

Red is my fave! But it does not look good in picture 🙁
That’s all folks! I’m really sorry I can’t share a lot of picture (because the place itself is not as big as roponggi one), but I hope you enjoy it!
By the way, I made an ask.fm account. Don’t be shy and ask me anything here.
As usual, comments are always loved! Have a good day.

    1) can i take pix in front of that very bright beautiful tree at shiodome caretta?
    2) can i go under/inside that tree?
    2) does the tree stays lit up all the time?

to be honest i was thinking abt places to propose in tokyo, and i found caretta illumination, and i found ur blog. and i think doing it either inside/under or in front of that lit up tree would look super amazing! thanks

      Hello Fred,
      Sorry for the late reply.

      1. Yes, you can. But you have to line for that. It’s not that long
      2. Again, yes you can. But you have to line hehehhee
      3. The illuminination usually happens during winter (December the entire month) and usually it starts from 7 to 11 ish.

Yea u mentioned, the show lasts 5 mins, and it repeats every 15 mins. So after that show of 5 mins, during the 10 mins break, does the place and tree light up? Or its dark until the show starts? Thanks.

        Goin there this November!
