Tachikawa Fall Foliage: Showa Kinen Park

You probably have read about my post about the ginko leaves in Tachikawa before. I went there long time ago, so last year my boyfriend took me there on my day off just to unwind a little bit. You know, working in Japanese company can be little stressful. Nothing had changed much since my last visit there. Tachikawa fall foliage is still pretty, especially the ginko trees line.

I went a little bit late, so all the leaves on the trees were almost gone. Still pretty tho.

Tachikawa Fall Foliage

It was early or mid November I guess, I could not really remember. It was cold. I worn a thin coat and it was obviously not warm enough. However, because we went there a little bit late, there was not so many people.

I live in Yokohama, so we came all the way from Yokohama to Tachikawa. It took us about 1 hour or so. If you use JR Rail Pass, the JR Nambu Line is stopping at Tachikawa so you can travel there for free.

The park is 10 minutes walk from the station. There’s one closer station, but it’s not a JR station.

I love autumn

I love autumn, because all those leaves remind me of spring, except they’re not flower.

Because it’s not too cold, but not too hot either.

And because it’s a reminder that season of fluffy clothes is coming soon.

(I think I took a better photos of him, compared to him taking photos of me, what do you think? lol)

There’s a small pond in the middle of the park. Boyfriend took me there and rent a pedal boat for 30 mins (it cost around 600Yen per 30 mins). There’s also a pedal boat that cost around 1000¥ per hour.

There’s a small restaurant next to the lake. I guess there’re several food corner around the park, but they might be full during peak hour. And if I’m not mistaken the park closes at 5PM, so the restaurants will close earlier (4PM or 4:30). Even the boat rental closes 30 mins before the park closes.

You can bring your dog (with extra admission fee). I think to avoid the crowd you need to go either early in the morning or later in the afternoon (like 2PM ish). We were so lucky that the park was not so crowded thus we can enjoy the atmosphere.

And that’s my last post in June. Thank you for keeping up with me.

I hope July will be better than June, and can’t you believe that we already passed the first half of 2017??

See you at the next post. As usual, you comments are always loved <3!
